The Inclusion for Peace Program of the United States Agency for Development (USAID), implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), seeks the social and economic inclusion of the indigenous and Afro-Colombian population. Since 2017, it has developed a strategy to strengthen the level of secondary education and promote the access and permanence of young people from these ethnic groups in higher education.

In coordination with the Secretaries of Education and Mayors of the municipalities of Cartagena, Riohacha, Uribia, San Juan del Cesar, Quibdó, Bagadó, Bojayá, MedellÃn, Buenaventura, Cali, Caloto, Puerto Tejada, Santander de Quilichao, Guapi, TimbiquÃ, Tumaco , Ricaurte and Barbacoas, the program has carried out actions in the components of skills leveling, socio-occupational guidance, training and situated accompaniment for teachers and strengthening of institutions and educational communities.

To respond to educational needs in the context of the health emergency generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Inclusion for Peace Program concentrated its efforts on the development of a set of educational resources, such as "Cuenta la tambora", a program podcast format radio with pedagogical intention, to strengthen academic skills in the areas of mathematics, critical reading and natural sciences that are evaluated in the Saber Tests for ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students.
This constitutes a dynamic and support tool to guide the autonomous work of students in remote mode, academic alternation or in the school classroom.
